Groundwater level and contaminants concentration change are monitored in pumping tests on geo-pollution sites. One of the purposes of the monitoring is to confirm the geo-pollution mechanism by flow the contaminated groundwater. The sufficient observation wells and established geologic setting are the precondition for pumping tests on geo-pollution sites. The monitoring can analyze as influence area of pumping, evaluation of aquitard which divides upper and lower aquifer.
Furthermore, the pumping tests make influence clear of existing pumping well, and weather condition as rain fall and atmospheric pressure. Sometimes, the test discover hide multiple-screen well that spread contaminant into the lower aquifer. Monitoring groundwater level by using continuous data collector not only in the pumping test but also in the background data is emphasized. Continuous and precise groundwater level collecting can analyze the whole flow system at the area. As a result, effective measures by the monitoring reduce expenses for cleanup geo-pollution.
