To combine the research results gleaned from many different disciplines can result in truly in depth understanding of complex systems. Such consolidation is most oftne summed up in words in scientific journals, abstracts at meetings or even in documentaries. The old saying "a picture is worth 100o words" is not far from the truth and sometimes complexity can be made clear on an artist's canvas. Over more than 30 years a group of scientists and one art, Peter Trusler, from Melbourne have been reconstructing the past in a series of art works that summarize complete ideas from a wide range of disciplines and the result has been lively discussions, revisions and final summations that provide deep understanding of the past - with cross-discipline translation.
