National Geological Spatial Information Grid (NGSIG) is the platform for resources share including geological data and information, software and computer hardware running on 3 levels (over 13 virtual nodes or provinces) network system environment in all china. According to www service framework, and under the criterion protocol support of SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, GML and etc, NGSIG has implemented the share and application service of spatial information based on the CAM model of GRID theory and SOA. The virtual node computing pool is the most important infrastructure in NGSIG. It include the information and resources share and application service criteria and protocols of geological survey spatial data. The virtual node computing pool aims at the kernel technology question for grid virtuality and cooperation. It begins with the questions for mode and performance of grid services, global and multilayer resource management and services discovery, global and distributed parallel tasks scheduler, communication mechanism based on Wide Area Net (WAN). Through the virtual node computing pool, the distributed computer resources can become a virtual computer with network connections under the support of NGSIG virtual node computing pool. The resource of computation, data and software can be cohere or stick together in a mass with middle software. The distributed users can use the web service interface to ask the services requirement and then the service cab be distributed to the other virtual node computing pool. It particularly develops that the framework and the mechanism of grid node computing pool on the platform of NGSIG, some concepts such as resource aggregation, meta-service, composed and intelligent service engine which compose Grid Node computing Pool. The framework of grid virtual node computing pool on NGSIG provides the uniform interface of services discovery by resource aggregation, supports for the resource virtuality and description, discovery and integration of spatial data. Meta service, aggregates a group of inhomogeneous services resource in WAN and provides users compute services as a sole compute environment, by the technique of Grid meta-service. By grid services intelligent service engine, it carries on the service discovery, asynchronous communication and parallel compute on the level of meta service, load balance, life cycle management, binding of services and resources, combines functions of the portal such as user management, resources surveillance, network security, cost management, and realizes cooperation about the association of one non-stated service and one or more stated resources. NGSIG have application in 13 virtual nodes connected. It realizes online distributed resources appraisal on non-ferrous metal mineralization belt of middle and lower reaches Yangtze River and southwest three rivers, dynamic appraisal on groundwater resource of North China Plane and has obtained the very good actual movement effect.
