This work searches to construct findings to understand the cycle of water. Firstly, we examine the often ways of occurrence of model, we search for special situations which the model is whole and integrated, we bring the teaching and learning of this model. We analyze the activities of Group of Studies Teaching of Earth System Science and continuing teaching education, from 2003 to 2006. During this period, there was a continuing education by means of collaborative research. The results of collaborative research give information on changes on secondary level of teaching. The teaching of Earth System Science was important to curricular innovations. The main curricular ways followed the guides on cycle of water, theory of systems, place and city, as well as geologic time. There were changes of models of cycle of water when teachers applied curricular innovations on their students.
